Last week, fast week

First thing's first, I survived the transfers cut! I'm going to be rocking it in B-Team for another six weeks here in Suseong with Elder Sayer. Also, this is the last transfer for B-teams in this mission, for a LONG time (a lot of missionaries are leaving, barely anyone is coming in, and so we have to get rid of a lot of teams). Sooo, we already know that we're going to be killing our team here! And knowing that is kinda helpful actually, because now we know that we have to bust our buns the next six weeks to see some miracles before it's over. It's gonna be a blast. In other news, I'm also still the district leader, and no one in my entire district transferred (which NEVER happens)! So I've still got the same Suseong/Gyeongsan family to look out for for another six weeks, which will also be a blast. Altogether, it's looking good for the future right now and we're all pumped to rake greatness from our corner of the vineyard for this next little while~

Alright, the last week of the transfer was really, really, really busy. And there's a bunch of pictures that were taken too which I will try to include later. The week basically consisted of Zone P-Day, exchanges to Gyeongsan, Zone Conference, a Helping Hands service activity, last week weekly planning, deep cleaning our house, a baptismal interview, a baptism, and trying to meet a handful of investigators and potential investigators in the mean time. We'll see if I can't hit the highlights a little better...

-Zone P-Day was suuuuper fun. It was the same thing we did as last time (going to an open park and playing a bunch of sports). Our Mission President actually tried to cancel it on us because, reasons? I don't actually remember.. BUT, we saved it through the wit of our Zone Leaders, who managed to concoct a "missionary purpose" behind the Zone P-Day. Woooooo! Good thing it didn't get cancelled because it was planned for the entire transfer and it was really stress relieving.

-I went on exchange with Elder 설진영 Seol Jinyoung down in 경산 Gyeongsan the day before Zone Conference. Elder Seol's health hasn't been all that great lately and he's getting to be an older missionary these days so the exchange was quite as "hard working" as I would have hoped for it to be but it was good to talk to him and do the work that we could. And we were able to teach a recent convert that day about how to receive answers to his own questions through personal revelation. Elder Seol is SUPER good at teaching and it was really cool to see a lesson being taught about something as important as getting answers to the questions in our hearts. Aside from that, we did some 전도 out in the middle of nowhere, and when we finally came in and called it a night, Elder Seol treated me to hot chocolate on the roof (the Elders live on the top floor our their villa in Gyeongsan, easy access). A nice  therapeutic exchange back in one of my old ares with a good friend.

-ZONE CONFERENCE was down in Busan this week, and was our annual hiking Zone Conference! And to make things better, we did the the conference with Daegu zone AND Ulsan zone (the only two zones I've ever been in or know people in). So it was another good time to see some faces and chat it up. A shame that they are starting to segregate the Elders and Sisters more and more in our mission though. We hiked separate from all the sisters the entire time and ate lunch separate as well. Alright for me though, there were a ton of awesome Elders to spend some time with. More on the spiritual side of things, the focus of this conference was personal revelation. Our President talked about how prophets would go up to mountains to converse with God and at the very end gave us time at the top of the mountain to pray about our personal questions. Spending a couple of minutes at the top of a mountain to think and pray about the things that are one my mind was actually a lot more enjoyable than I expected. Free time to think has now become a luxury haha. The talks and testimonies were great. Good fun time.

-A little bit about our investigators~ We tried meeting our referral guy who wants to get baptized but cancelled on us for the second time in a row (bummer), but in the same day met our Sugar Daddy investigator and a new investigator (recovered). Sugar Daddy, 장재형 Jang Jaehyung, fed us the best tasting roasted fish I've ever had. Unfortunately didn't get to share anything with him but set it up so we could do so next time. Our new investigator is a super nice guy we met on the street working in insurance with a super cute family that wanted to take us out to eat. And so he took us out to eat dinner at an Italian restaurant (hard to find in Korea). We got to more properly get to know each other, he thinks missionaries are sick, and he's planning on asking his wife if we can come over to meet his family (WHOA). So that was a nice miracle for that day. We're planning on meeting him again this week! We also got to meet Ben again and taught him the entire Plan of Salvation. It seems like a little too much information at one time for him but he didn't start running away after we taught it. He's still down for us to continue teaching about Jesus. We just got to try and figure out how to get him to act on the things he's learning now...

-Helping Hands Service Project and Baptismal Service. We had the entire Daegu Stake come down to Suseong to help clean up the river right next to our church. Pretty hot outside but still had a good turn out. More missionaries and members to see. We had an awesome potential investigator show up out of nowhere, Lorenzo or 나준성 Nah Junseong. And then he decided to stay for the baptismal service right after; he said that he thought it would be a cool experience, so why not? Speaking of the baptismal service, I got to conduct my first ever baptismal interview to Brother 문민식 Moon Minshik, who met his girlfriend (super active member) last year, heard ALL the lessons from her, met our A-Team a month ago, reviewed all the lessons, passed the interview with flying colors, and was baptized on May 26th 2018. He's a baller, and him and his girlfriend are planning on getting married in the temple a year from now. Way to go 민식!

That's all I have time to write! It was a super fun week, I'll try to include as many pictures as I can! Thanks for reading~~

Just Really. Really. Busy

Sorry it's been a while! Last week was Mother's Day so I just did the call and didn't leave anytime for email at the end of the day. But quite a bit has happened since the last weekly email. I think I'll just have to go speed round style this time around. Sooo...

~SPEED ROUND~
- Elder Sayer and I got our first referral of our mission last week! Our WML gave us a business card and told us that he was a friend of a member and wanted to meet missionaries. Cool! So we called him, went to his office, got introduced to all his employees, sat down, and asked us how to get baptized... So we're going to be meeting him regularly! Couldn't meet this week but this man seems to have a strong desire to learn from us.

- We got two new investigators these last two weeks! One of them has a ton of interest and one of them doesn't have as much but is open to meeting with us and talking it all out. We've actually been able to meet a lot of new people recently and have some appointments already set up for next week with other new people! Woo~

- We made a ton of progress with one of our main investigators, Ben. He accepted listening to the lessons and this last time we meet (last week on Saturday), he came to the church and we started talking about the Plan of Salvation. He actually listened and had awesome questions, I wish I wrote them all down haha He's excited to meet with us more and it seems that the month or two of just getting comfortable with him has payed off.

- We were able to meet a lot of members this week too! A couple of dinner appointments here and there but the coolest one was when the Military Branch President invited us on base to eat lunch with him. But this man had a plan: his coworkers were there, and they were Korean! So we were able to meet them (their first time with missionaries), dazzle them with our mad Korean skills (we actually suck but people are just impressed if you know how to say hi around here), and they even asked us some questions about what we're doing and why we're here. Cool experience for President Gustaves and a good planted seed for his coworkers.

- We had this transfer's last district meeting yesterday. I have grown to love being a district leader and boy do I love my district. I'm going to be super bummed if I get transferred out next week... We made some sweet goals this transfer and we put some great effort forth to achieve them! Our mission has a standard now of receiving three contacts and giving two BoM's everyday (harder than it sounds) but we were able to get 171 contacts and 134 BoM's as a district this transfer (I had to follow-up ALL THE TIME). Every team saw a miracle everyday, which I have recorded in a journal somewhere (more follow-up). And we did morning district yoga through video call to start every day (less follow-up and more of me just calling and being the alarm clock). They're great people. They work super hard. And I have learned a ton from them.

That's gonna be about all I share because I'm losing email time and still need to shop for food this week. We had Zone P-day today and it was a ton of fun. We went to a spacious park, brought a bunch of sports equipment and just went crazy with it. A little time consuming for the travel time but worth it.

This Saturday is transfer calls!! Hoping I get to stay with Elder Sayer for another one here in Suseong B-Team. We're doing pretty well right now so it would be a bummer to get bounced. Stay tuned for next week! Love you guys~
